Scholarship Information
La Nuestra Tango and Queer Tango Boston seek to create queer-centered and inclusive tango spaces. We offer scholarships to help keep our events accessible, especially for folks that cannot otherwise afford to attend. When allocating scholarships, organizers look at intersectional factors that increase a dancer’s need and reduce their access to events. We encourage anyone who wishes to attend camp but is concerned about affordability to apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are funded by community support. QT Camp has a sliding scale registration fee. At the low end of the sliding scale, a person is paying solely for themself; higher payments on the sliding scale add to our pool of scholarship funds. The number of scholarships we are able to offer each year depends on this pool of funds. Pinewoods also collaborates with us to offer two scholarships, which are earmarked for BIPOC dancers.
Pinewoods is a traditional dance and music camp located in a beautiful 25-acre pine and beech forest between Long Pond and Round Pond in Plymouth, Massachusetts. There are four large dance pavilions, comfortable rustic cabins and houses, two clear-water lakes for swimming and boating, an open-sided Dining Hall with beautiful views over the water, and a cozy Camphouse for various gatherings.
